Meet Our Team
Our Team
Founder, Chair & President
Xavier Dooley
Xavier is a medical student from Melbourne with a passion for reducing inequity, with volunteer and work experience in educational, social support and healthcare settings.
It was a friend who said, “I’ve volunteered my entire life for my family, but, because I didn’t stand in a soup van, I can’t put it on my resume.”
The unfairness and injustice of the situation was apparent and, coupled with his own care experiences, Xavier sought a way to recognise unpaid care work in a way that is acceptable to employers.
Vice-President
Ethan Du
Ethan is a biomedical science and commerce student from Melbourne who is committed to making a positive impact in our communities. As a volunteer mentor and coach, he has a passion for providing personalised support and guidance to help others to achieve their goals.
Through his past charity involvements, Ethan has developed a strong appreciation for the inequities faced by those in disadvantaged positions and a dedication to assisting others wherever possible. As part of Accredicare, Ethan is driven to make a meaningful difference to those who devote their time and energy to caring for others.
Lived-Experience Advisor
Richard Lay
Richard is a medical student with a commitment to social impact, being an ex-director of a TEDx branch and being involved in medical committees. He also brings considerable experience as a volunteer mentor and tutor.
Having lived experience caring for his grandparents whilst completing his studies, Richard understands the difficulties of informal carer arrangements and, thus, he hopes to help others to overcome these challenges through his commitment to Accredicare.
Secretary
Yianni Droungas, PhD
Yianni is a medical student from Melbourne with a strong passion for finding meaningful solutions for social barriers to good health and for improving health equity in our community.
Having experienced the additional responsibility of being a carer whilst balancing higher degree studies and work commitments, Yianni recognises the challenges and impacts that caregiving can bring.
Through his role at Accredicare, Yianni hopes to contribute to providing practical solutions for recognising caregiving formally, translating to better employment opportunities.
Treasurer
Beatrice Liu
Beatrice is an international medical student studying in Melbourne. With a passion for volunteering and bridging the gap, she has considerable experience volunteering in education and healthcare, both here and in Singapore. She is especially committed to helping students with their learning so that they can reach their fullest potential.
Working closely with Singaporean social workers in helping to care for children from migrant backgrounds, Beatrice has a deep understanding of the difficulties of balancing care responsibilities whilst pursuing an education.
Industry Engagement & Marketing Officer
Erin Lin
Erin is a medical student who is deeply passionate about making an impact in the lives of others. Having volunteered extensively in healthcare, service and caregiving roles, she has gained a profound understanding of the impact that caregivers have on patients.

Director (Singapore)
Irvin Soh
Irvin is a Singaporean medical student who strives to support a fundamental pillar of all healthcare systems - carers.
By empowering caregivers through his work at Accredicare, he aims to alleviate the burdens they take on and recognise the efforts and sacrifices that carers make for their loved ones. In so doing, he hopes to create a more equitable society for those who often go unrecognised.
