Assessment Process

Process

Carers can book a case assessment - this is an interview with one of our trained case assessors to better understand your circumstances and experiences.

Within five business days of your assessment, you will be notified of the outcome - if approved, we will tell you of your award and award level so you can get started on applying for jobs.

We’re here to help you also - feel free to get in touch to learn about how to best use our accreditations when looking for work.

Retrospective accreditations are valid for the specified timeframe; ongoing accreditations are usually valid for six months, unless a smaller timeframe was agreed upon between the case assessor and carer. Ongoing accreditations must be reviewed every six months to review their validity.

To increase your chances of a successful outcome, please collect all appropriate and relevant supporting evidence before your assessment in digital form, to be shared on-screen during your assessment.

All carers must present a completed Written Consent Form with evidence of consent from the person(s) whose medical and personal information will be discussed, including the carer themselves.

Please note - failing to tender a completed Written Consent Form will result in the immediate termination of the Case Assessment interview and you may be ineligible for a refund.

What to Expect

During the consultation, our case assessors may inquire into the nature of your care experience. You are not required to answer any questions about which you are uncomfortable; however, this may influence the outcome of your application.

Specific dates, relevant referees and any other information (e.g. doctor’s notes and prescriptions) should be prepared to maximise your eligibility for a certificate.

Please also note that those who are receiving care are encouraged to attend our case assessments wherever possible!

Confidentiality & Privacy

Accredicare does not record nor keep any medical records. Digital copies of supporting documentation are only sighted during assessments and are not kept by us.

Support With Employers

Successful applicants are provided with a digital certificate attesting to their care experience with a personalised reference number.

Employers can also contact us directly to verify your accreditation.

Bookings and Fees

Concession rates apply those who hold a valid Services Australia concession card.
